Crew & Manning

Crew & manning
structured around vessel requirements.

UOC supports crew planning, professional records, candidate assessment, documentation, certificate visibility, rotations and crew-change coordination around the needs of each vessel.

People & Vessel Readiness

Crew decisions need timing, competency and document visibility.

A crew requirement is more than filling a rank. Vessel type, experience, joining window, certification, travel, rotation and operational continuity all influence whether an assignment is workable.

UOC structures crew information and shore-side follow-up so owners and operators can review availability, competency and documentation more clearly while maintaining responsible recruitment communication.

How We Work

Define the need. Assess the record. Coordinate the joining.

Crew workflows are stronger when operational requirements and professional records are reviewed before assignment decisions are made.

01

Define

Confirm vessel, rank, experience, timing and operational requirements before searching for or assigning personnel.

02

Assess

Review the available seafarer record against the requirements of the vessel and proposed assignment.

03

Coordinate

Align documentation, travel, joining dates, vessel schedule and required shore-side actions.

04

Maintain

Keep crew records, certificate status, assignment history and future availability visible after joining.

Crew Information

Professional crew records are more useful when they stay current.

UOC's digital maritime platform is being developed around crew records, contracts, availability, competency, certificates, document expiry and operational crew administration so relevant information can remain visible to authorized shore teams.

Service Questions

Questions about Crew & Manning.

Concise answers to common questions about scope, responsibility and how the service connects with wider vessel operations.

01What does UOC crew and manning support include?

The scope can include crew planning, candidate assessment, crew administration, certificate monitoring, crew-change coordination, competency visibility and related shore-side follow-up.

02Does submitting crew information guarantee employment or vessel assignment?

No. Registration or inclusion in a crew pool does not itself guarantee employment, placement or a vessel assignment. Opportunities depend on vessel requirements, suitability, availability and the applicable recruitment framework.

03How are regulated recruitment and placement activities handled?

Maritime recruitment and placement may be subject to flag-state, national, MLC or other jurisdiction-specific requirements. Where licensing or an approved structure is required, the activity must be performed within that framework and through appropriately authorized parties where necessary.
